Mike was refered and hired by our realtor. He was right on time, and began immediately. Patriot is a two man team, they are quick, effeciant and very thorough. Mike answered any questions we had on the spot as well as letting us know details as he saw them. The report he produced is thorough. Pictures of all the items that were the main focus both inside and out. Detailed descriptions of each picture as well. We received an informative book and when the report was emailed there was also a report on possible recalls on the appliances. Several days later I emailed Mike a question. He answered almost immediatly and a second email he gave me several referalls to local contractors and exterminators.

Nothing short of phenomenal ! I know that seems a little over the top to say about an inspection but it is true. Mike was cheerful, helpful and knowledgeable while inspecting the house. He answered all of my questions and really gave the place a through going over. The information he gave us saved us a few dollars on our purchase price when we were able to show the seller that there were a few deficiencies on the property. SO far that's just great service, what put him over the top was his willingness to go out of the way to help us. On the day before Christmas, when most folks are settling in with family, we had an emergency call from our banker. Turns out that they needed some clarification on something in the report, and they needed it right then and there or else we would be denied the loan. The clock was ticking and we needed to have the issue settled or risk securing the loan in time to close. We called Mike and without hesitation he clarified the report, and even spoke with out lender directly to ensure that there would be no further issues. I can not recommend him highly enough, and he is in our rolodex of helpful folks to recommend to our friends.

Mike did 2 home inspections and radon testing for us. One was on a 30 year old home with 2 additional structures and one was on a 100 year old home. Mike is an amazing inspector. We used him twice because we did not purchase the first home we considered due to Mike's report, and thank God he found everything he did. Our second inspection had numerous problems which Mike outlined in a clear and detailed report he got to us in a few hours. Luckily, the seller repaired the issues and Mike came back to re-inspect on about 12 hours notice and sent a reply in 30 minutes later detailing his findings from the day. You could not have a more efficient, pleasant, easier to work with inspector. I have no immediate plans to purchase another home, but when I do, you can bet I'll use Mike again.

I was in the process of purchasing an 85 year old waterfront property in Riverside, RI and Mike was recommended to me as a very good Home Inspector by a very reputable Realtor. After speaking with Mike, from Auger Enterprises, on the telephone, I contracted him to perform my home inspection. First let me mention that I am not your typical home buyer in that I am actually a Certified Building Inspector in Massachusetts. I have been involved in home construction, design, for over 25 years and have been a Building Inspector for the past 7 years. As you can see, I would be very particular with whom I contracted to inspect a property that I hoped to purchase. The home I contracted Mike to inspect was built in 1935 by the people who owned Crescent Park, the old amusement park in Riverside, RI. I fell in love with it because of the charming details and vintage sound construction. But, there were so many things to investigate, and this is where Mike stepped in a provided one of the most thorough home inspections that you could hope for. Since the home is on the ocean and is surrounded by an 85 year old concrete retaining wall, Mike arrived at the inspection at low tide (7:00am) with his waders on and step ladder and proceeded to climb down the rocky cliff way and assess and photograph the entire perimeter of the sea wall. Thirty minutes later he was on the two story roof walking the entire roof system and photographing. Decking, masonry chimney system,sidewall, gutters, windows, mechanics, etc, etc…were viewed and assessed on the exterior. Mike’s interior and exterior inspection yielded not only information on items in question, but also provided me with information about how my future house worked and should be maintained. This was so important. This was not an easy house to inspect since it has both gas steam heat, and forced air and a separate air conditioning unit in the attic space. There was no space that Mike did not investigate. The tricky thing about Building Inspection is that it entails so many disciplines including, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural. New dwellings are so much easier to inspect then older dwelling since there are so many things that have been tampered with over the years and building codes change and it becomes a big puzzle. I must say that Mike possesses all the qualities and expertise that are needed to perform a thorough and accurate assessment of a dwelling. The inspection lasted many hours and at the close, Mike assured me that a report would follow quickly. It did, and was more than I could have asked for. All deficiencies were photographed and described in depth along with informative information about the workings of the home which proved to be so important... oh... did I mention that I bought the home!!! Well, as a picky Building Inspector myself, I can’t speak more highly about Mike’s service. Thanks Mike

I have always had a good experience working with Mike Auger and his assistant, Steve. His technology and tools are a big plus, because he is able to view high roofs with his telescoping camera. He uses moisture meters to verify if a roof is suspected of active leaks. He gets the report back within hours which is a big plus in the real estate business. Because there are two people doing the inspection, it takes half the time (plus they are always early and start on the outside). I also like that he encourages the homebuyer to move around the house with him and learn as they go.

Mike and Steve were great! They arrived early and had started the inspection of the exterior before we even arrived on-site and we were early! Mike came in to analyze a failed construction project of our bath and kitchen. He didn't dance around problems, but hit them head on and recommended the actions necessary to correct the construction.
He knew how to photo the problems and explain why they were wrong.

Having bought 5 homes previously and having had 8 home inspections performed for myself & on my parents behalf, Mike's inspection was by far the best and the most thorough, took approximately 2 hours with him & his partner, I would say the home they inspected for me is approximately 2,500 sq. ft. with a detached 3 car garage. I've always been present for the home inspections I've had done. One thing in particular I liked was he removes the electric breaker panel cover and does a visual of connections inside, this is important to identify potential electrical hazards from subpar home renovations etc. Punctuality, was awesome! we had 9 am. appointment, he arrived at 8:45, I really appreciate timeliness. Pricing in my opinion was reasonable & fair and quoted in advance. They did identify some deficiencies which will I try to negotiate off of the sale price, half of those defects I wouldn't have noticed.

Mike Auger was very professional in his inspection and didn't mind me asking questions. He gave a very realistic evaluation of the condition of the property with good advice on the discrepancies. He didn't blow anything out of proportion or diminish the importance where appropriate. I would highly recommend him.
